Tyler’s Troup Highway reopened after gas leak repairs completed

TYLER, Texas (KLTV) -Crews were working on a gas leak in the area of Troup Highway and Shiloh Road Friday afternoon. By 6 p.m., however, repairs were completed and traffic had been reopened.

Tyler Police Public Information Officer Andy Erbaugh said a work crew had been digging a ditch when they hit a 4-inch gas pipe. It had been expected to take three to four hours to repair.

According to police, as of 2:30 p.m. all north and southbound lanes of Troup Highway had been shut down. Southbound traffic on Troup Highway was being diverted down Shiloh Road. Northbound traffic was closed near the entrance of Trane in the 6200 block of Troup Highway.

Officers and repair crews were in the roadway.

As of 6 p.m., all lanes of Troup Highway are back open for traffic.
