Person of interest detained in connection with North Tyler apartment shooting
TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - Tyler police have detained one person as a possible suspect in a shooting incident Monday at a north Tyler apartment complex.
Griffin Elementary School has also lifted its shelter in place order as Tyler police continue to investigate the scene in northeast portion of Liberty Arms Apartments in the 2600 block of N. Broadway Avenue. Tyler Police Department Public Information Officer Andy Erbaugh said “a lot” of casings have been found at the scene with multiple apartment units and parked vehicles struck by gunfire, although no injuries have been reported thus far save for the person of interest who reportedly sustained a gunshot wound. Erbaugh said they are speaking with multiple people as they gather information on the suspect, though no motive has yet been established.
Erbaugh said residents are being cleared to go back to their apartments and they are asking for anyone with information on the incident to come forward and speak with investigators.
