Tyler Watkins-Logan Veterans Home hosts Memorial Day barbecue
TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - The Watkins Logan Veterans Home hosted their annual memorial day program Monday morning. Veterans and their families gathered to remember those who sacrificed their lives while serving our country.
The event began with the presentation of colors. Followed by the ringing of the bell for every life lost in battle. We spoke with Bill Glover, a veteran of the Vietnam War who shared what this day means to him.
“Well the part that I think about on memorial day is not the ones that are still here to celebrate. I’m thinking about all those people who did not get back to celebrate and I’m actually thinking of them today and their families and wishing they could be here with us.”
The Watkins Logan Veterans Home has been putting on this event for 13 years now.
